The biggest news coming out of Chapel Hill is the decommitment of outside linebacker Payton Wilson. The Hillsborough native has been out with a knee injury in recent months and had been visiting other colleges. He made the official announcement on Tuesday afternoon on his Twitter account. It was an announcement that seemed like an inevitability at this point, but it still hurts to to hear.

The Tar Heels got a visit from 2019 safety Anthony Harris over the weekend. The program also sent out several offers in the last week, including quarterback Salem Turner-Muhammad defensive tackle Jaden McKenzie, weak-side defensive end Lloyd Summerall, and wide receiver C.J. Johnson.

The early signing period came and went, and Zion Williamson has remained uncommitted to any particular program. The late signing period will run from mid-April to mid-May, giving us plenty of time to wonder what his final decision will be. He continued to consider Clemson, Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
At one point it was assumed that five-star small forward Wendell Moore would be following teammate Rechon Black to Chapel Hill. Unfortunately, things have slowed down a bit since he released his top 10 list at the end of October. Moore, though, has mentioned that he remains in contact with the team and has plans to visit Chapel Hill soon and take in a basketball game.
