Recruiting season never ends, but it’s about to get exciting now that the Tar Heels are competing for a big-time prospect in five-star running back Zamir White. The Laurinburg native announced his final four last night, declaring UNC in the running alongside Alabama, Clemson, and Georgia. He had offers from Ohio State, Auburn, FSU, Michigan State, Penn State, Tennessee, and many others before he made his decision.
It is believed that Clemson and Georgia are the two teams to beat at this point on the recruiting trail. He has already visited the Bulldogs twice in 2017, and he has apparently built a friendship with Clemson quarterback commit Trevor Lawrence. What North Carolina brings to the table is proximity, since Chapel Hill is just 90 miles from his hometown. They have also stayed on him for several years now, bringing him to campus and having him attend camps and workouts since 2014. Larry Fedora has been in for the long haul here.

3. Clemson
4. North Carolina
The five-foot-eleven, 195-pound running back is destined to be one of the stars of the 2018 recruitment class. He is ranked third in the nation, first as a running back, and first in the state of North Carolina. Scouting reports say he’s a special player who can do it all. He has a great combination of speed, size, and power with good instincts and vision that allow him to be a threat any time he touches the ball.
White says that he will make his final decision on June 27, so this won’t be the last time we hear of him. He hasn’t been on campus since June, but hopefully Fedora can get him back to Chapel Hill soon.
