While we’re constantly on offer/commitment watch here at THB, you’ll have to excuse us for a few slow weeks on the recruiting front, because it’s the beginning of the summer. High schoolers all around the country are relaxing, taking a few weeks to not really worry about their futures, and we shouldn’t begrudge them that. That said, UNC fans have a few events to look forward to this summer, and there’s been some movement as far as that goes.

Recruiting Notes
- 4-star quarterback John Rhys Plumlee (no relation, as far as we can tell), from Mississippi, visited UNC’s campus last Friday, and the school rocketed up to the top of his list, according to Inside Carolina. Plumlee has taken a ton of unofficial visits already, including to Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Georgia, Clemson, Florida, and Alabama. He holds offers from all of those programs except for Clemson, so to put UNC at the top says a lot about the effect campus had on him. He is likely to return to Chapel Hill for Larry Fedora’s annual Freak Show.
- Speaking of Fedora’s Freak Show, the event is less than 3 weeks away. We’ll keep you updated on what to look for as it arrives.

Recruiting Notes
- 2019 wing prospect Keion Brooks is planning on visiting UNC’s campus sometime this summer. UNC is fighting with a lot of heavy hitters on this one, including Kentucky, Michigan State, Louisville, and home state Indiana. He’s had ample opportunity to see the schools in the Midwest and Rust Belt due to living in Indiana, so showing him everything the Southern Part of Heaven has to offer is imperative.
- Last but not least, we’d like to take a moment to recognize James Hampton. The Charlotte-based high school player collapsed on the court during Nike’s EYBL event this past weekend and died after being taken to the hospital. Our deepest condolences go out to Hampton’s family, friends, and teammates.
